Nostalgic Blooms From The Past

Yesterday when I was rummaging through a pile of my ol stuff I came across these wonderful flowers I had created some 12 years back. These, my friends, are fabric paiting. I had actually cut this piece of cloth from my dad's uniform cloth...It was indeed my first attempt at painting on fabric. In the first picture you could see that the paint had spread a bit coz I wasn't sure on how much to dip water.

Different styles are shown here.

The first one here is done with a bean cut.  A bean cut into two and dipped in paint and dabbed on cloth.
Haven't painted on fabric for a very long time.  I should be doing that soon:)
More to follow...

Happy Blooming Tuesday!

Missy n Senita

Missy and Senita together posing for a snap to treasure their first meeting. Senita arrived from London on a short visit to meet Missy. That happened two weeks before. Last week she was in Africa. This week she paid a visit to Australia. Senita is on a world tour I believe.
Here's Missy wishing Senita 'Good Luck!'

Smiling Beauty

"A smile happens in a flash, but its memory can last a lifetime"

That being said, it is also true that people are stingy with their smile.
What I would like to say is

"If someone is too tired to give a smile, leave one of your own, because no one needs a smile as much as those who have none to give"

Smiling Beauty was done in 2006. I am so much in love with this picture I made in Illustrator. There are some flaws still it doesn't matter. Maybe coz I love that smile :)

I had come across some pictures of beautiful women and I wanted to try one of those. I chose this one.
Hope you all like it too...

Have a Smiling Day :)

Arabian Beauty

This is a glass painting I tried few months back. I saw it in a calendar. I was drawn to it (especially the eyes) and wanted to try it.
Arabs are very fond of horses as almost everyone would be well aware of. They have the finest horses here. This is dedicated to that Arabian Spirit.
Hope you all like it :)

Ruby-Throated Hummingbird n Blooms

Glass painting of a Ruby/Red-Throated Hummingbird and blooms. I completed this before going to India in June. Finally displaying it. Its a very simple one but I wanted to paint this just for the sake of the ruby-throated angel. The effects aren't very clear here as its always very difficult to take pictures of glass paintings. Not enough sunlight reaches here and the flash becomes prominent in the photos if used. It looks better in person.

These are some pictures I took from shopping malls. You could see some fab art in tiles and floors and so on. I will post some nice pictures as and when I take it.
They've some great art over here.
Happy Blooming Tuesday to all:)

Zen Cactus

I have been doing digital art for sometime now mainly coz if I lay down my art materials once, it will take sometime to clear off 'the mess' as mentioned by my husband. Moreover space is a great concern for people like us living in Dubai in a flat.
Today I thought of making a zentangle atc...with a pear cactus in the limelight :)
If you could give a keen eye to it...you could notice the details. I don't know whether you could makeout the 'too much in too little...' like the spaces here.
Happy Cactus Monday, My Friends!

Blooms From My Daughter...

This photo was taken from Manasa, Bangalore. I loved this pond and these beautiful red flowers. I know not its name. But it just seemed so sweet.

Here's Anoushka (my daughter) and Anushka (her friend) playing on the swing...
in the garden with colourful flowers and butterfly...
and with a rainbow too...

and this was a gift that my daughter made for her teacher, Mrs. Shazia Khan, for being a loving and wonderful teacher!
Anoushka, my charming l'tl one, described her art just as such.
She is a sweet l'tl blossom in my life and she fills it with fragrance thats heavenly...
Here's wishing everyone a Happy Blooming Tuesday!
