Fearless Poster Collective

Femininity - the quality or condition of being feminine; as it goes I personally am one in favour of this particular quality. There's nothing more wonderful than a woman being termed as being feminine. To carry oneself gracefully is a Quality worth appreciated. In these times when there is a startling excess of pouncing and assault going around, Feb 14th (Valentines Day and One Billion Rising) was dedicated to celebrate femininity by setting up a Street Poster Exhibition in Delhi. This initiative was ignited by Shilo Shiv Suleman in collaboration with Kitsch Mandi and Chance.org. Anyone interested in contributing could continue to do so until March 8th to shilo1221@gmail.com.

These are my contributions for the Fearless Poster Collective. It is a heartfelt tribute to the Delhi rape victim, Nirbhaya, and all the victims and survivors who have unfortunately endured it all...

The first one is an attempt at typography and the second is one of the postcards I made as part of the Mail Art. It must have reached its destination.

The one in the right says "Serene Strong I am, Fearless!"

Here are a few pictures from the Street Exhibition held in Delhi:

Valentine Wish and Snail mails

First of all, A huge Valentines Day wishes to all my dear readers and blogger friends.Hope you had a great day!

 Valentine Couple; Warli style

Secondly, I had my first sale for the year. 'Looking Forward' is on it's way to USA to Hrissi Haldezos; she found it in my blog and expressed her wish to buy it. And there it goes! Here's a sneak peak of the picture. The detailed post can be read in the link above. It's painted on wood with acrylics. The postcard is created in Chikan kari pattern; one of the most famous textile decoration styles. It's a traditional art of embroidery specific to Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. It is believed to be introduced by Noor Jahan, Mughal Emperor Jehangir's wife. The postcard (Daler and Rowney watercolor paper) is my gift to Hrissi.

Looking Forward with a painted postcard (a surprise gift!)

As an update on the postcard swap @Artists in Blogland... My postcards are also onto its way to talented artists in Philippines and Germany. It's already time for it's destination reach :)

Postcards on its way

The postcards will be displayed in a later post after it reaches it's rightful owners :) Let them find it first in person; in case they drop by here and see it :0

Happy Friday!

Fun Project

There are an immense amount of talent and creativity in the virtual world...and to hop from one to another makes it a delight when you are encountered with an explosion of talent! I sometimes find it mind boggling!!! Its like I am travelling through a magical world unraveling the mysteries each one holds for me...

It's an amazing influence and inspiration... In one such journey I came across Angie's blog - The Cellar Door Stories and saw this glass stones decoupaged.

I thought of creating my own too and introduced it as a FUN project with my daughter during her Xmas holidays... here is the result of our endeavor :)

We have used tiny pictures of our family members and decoupaged it...can add button magnets behind and use it as magnets.

The glass stones are available in many stores like Day to Day, IKEA, Home Center, Daiso etc.

Do leave your comments and let us know what you think of it...may be it will inspire many of you like it did us...a kind of paying it forward :)
