As I bellowed in the dark
I cringed and squirmed
Leaving no doubt of recovery
The slam shuddered from the depth of me
As I lay half-naked
Light peered thru the blinds
Investigating the reason
Soulful talk ensued
Consoling and caressing
Wiping and cooing
I looked deep into his eyes
With kohl smeared countenance
Something shook me…
Was it the chill of the night
Or the spine…?Amid angst
Hard touch checked my beats
As he smiled and smirked
Tears from above lashed
Deafening, numbing the senses
That has always been so…
While I lay vacant with traces of familiarity…
I think I've been concentrating entirely on fine art these days that I completely neglected my writing which by the way I am trying to refine. Please don't laugh at me. I really wish to write as fine as L'girl, Aniket, Cathy and Vesper. Not to forget l'tl Kriti. Since I started blogging I've put on hold my short stories to the entire dismay of my husband. So here comes the lash my friends...pls bear with me...
lash?
ReplyDeleteAre you friggin kidding me?!?!
This was beautiful!!!
And I didn't even know that you write as well!! :-(
You should write more...
You have natural talent darling!! :-)
Good for you, you write until your heart is content....no laughing here! Loved your post yesterday, particularly the second one, 'foliage'.
ReplyDeleteThis was a good piece of poetry.,..
ReplyDeleteI don't know who said, its not..
It had lot of depth and i think almost all your poems do... SO please don't think that way..
if you think that way, what should i think about me ..? :P
It is perfectly wonderful to be able to express yourself through more than one medium. Good for you! And work in one form will inspire and enrich the other. Yes, it certainly can be difficult to keep more than one thing up at a time but there is a natural syncopated flow to our creative rhythms. Time for art, time for writing, time for art, time for writing. It's all your time.
ReplyDeleteA lovely poem lovely poem!
ReplyDeleteYou should seriously write more.
And you should seriously make your husband buy you a nice good camera so that you can do more justice to your paintings. (Just don't tell him I said so :D :D)
And come on... my writing prowess sucks big time... so does my vocab. Though I must admit I try my best to chose interesting topics so that they shadow my limited abilities. :D
Thank you for sharing this writing of yours. I got all caught up in the story...quite intriging.
ReplyDeleteLove the new banner too! Now don't stop the art either.

ReplyDeletei should have known...
a person who can paint and draw so beautifully cannot be anything but a poet. i'm so glad you decided to come out of the closet. :)
i blush that you put my name next to Cat and Vesper. i don't think i write so fine... but the thing we have in common, you me, aniket, kriti, Cat and all the other lovely poets i've been reading, is that we see something and feel a burning burning need to paint it in our own colours...
looking forward to seeing more poems and prose here, along with paintings...
love you :)
