Since I couldn't get a glimpse of even a single cactus, I finally had to seek a picture of THE PROTOGONIST! That was just for reference to get an idea of how it looks. This is a Cactus Rose. I have drawn it in glass using glass colors hence the shine and glaze. I thought I'll try it in this medium as I am currently working on it. I like the shine that this medium provides. Hope you all like it.

hi deepa... i have been trying to comment on your blog for many days now but for some reason it simply wasn't accepting comments. i want to tell you that i've been reading all your posts and i loved every one, especially, the sketched with your daughter. :)
i agree with little girl lost, me too, but now i can comment. yippeeee. welcome to cactus monday fellow cactuteer. so glad to have you with our group. and this is fabulous!i love it.
Hmm.. Cactus monday! Am hearing about them the first time. ;-)
But I love this...
Reminds me of the lyrics of the lovely sweet song 'Tree Hugger' from Moldy Peaches (Juno Soundtrack), that goes like this:
"and the rattle snake said, I wish I had hands,
so I could hug yu, like a man...
And the cactus said, don't you understand?
My body is covered, with sharp spikes...
That'll stab you like a thousand knives,
A hug would be nice,
but hug my flower with your eyes.."
So here's a big warm hug to your cactus flower, from my eyes...lolz
I love the shine on this. I makes the cactus rose look etherial.
Thank you for coming to my blog today! Nice to meet you!
Your cactus on glass is quite extrodinary. Lovely shining as it does! Will go on to look at more of your work.
Welcome to Cactus Monday!
This is just spectacular!! I have never heard of this kind of paint or technique before. Maybe one day you could explain just how it all works. Please?
Happy Cactus Monday!! So happy you joined us.
Welcome to Cactus Monday Deepa. Wow what a beautiful cactus. I am not familiar with any kind of glass art. I love seeing it though. This gives our CM a whole new dimension.
Hi Deepazartz,
Happy cactus Monday!
So clever to paint the cool cactus on glass. Beautiful and inspiring.
See you next week:)
Thatz a diff. kind of rose, a unique rose of its kind, cactus rose! Beautiful! Anything that catches ur fancy, u can try out. But here I have a doubt, correct me if am wrong..Have u done this painting with the blue color in the background? If so, I feel some other colour wud'v been more appropriate in the background..this is just my thought.. In the same manner, just 3 days back, I had left a comment on 2 of ur artzwork, dragon and the angel smelling the rose! Did u get that? In that, I had mentioned abt making the fingers more perfect ((in general, not specific))..just said what I felt.. If ur looking for beautifully shaped fingers, u just have to fix ur gaze on ur left hand while involving in the creation! Hey,I really meant it, yar..take it as a compliment!

Hello Deepa! I absolutely love your shining cactus rose! Awesome...and the circluar pattern to it is very alluring to the eye! Happy CM!!!
Thanks Margaret and thank u Julie.
deepa,i have also just learnt what atc cards are. They are little business card sizes, 2.5"x3.5" that people draw on or do collage on and then swap with other people , they are never sold or bought. i had never tried anything so small before, then got a pack of them in the post from Lolo, and i started -now i love them. if you send me your address by email, i will send you some of mine to try them

Hmmmm i dont like cactus.... :p
They hurt when you touch them..how do you expect me to like them then?
Ha ha...they remind you that there's beauty in pain too...there's beauty in thorns too...atleast one can learn to be careful even when enjoying beauty.
See Aniket's comment, you'll like it:)
Beautiful! Thank you so fairy much for sharing - it's nice to see another cactus rose piece. Your glass technique is awesome.
