Parineeta

Parineeta (Married woman) series is inspired from the Parineeta movie only in name. I just love the sound of it and thought of creating women characters sensitive yet bold, mild yet firm, timid yet self-assured...all at the same time!
A wedlock brings out qualities that a woman may never have realized/recognized that she possessed. It brings out facets or nuances of her nature that reveals more to herself than others. She can do and undo anything she wishes to... I mean the positive ones unlike the soaps that always portray women in almost all the negative attributes one can imagine!
It is exactly for the same reason that we worship Goddess whether it be Saraswathi (Goddess of Wisdom), Parvathy (Goddess of Power) or Lakshmi (Goddess of Wealth and Prosperity)...or the mightier Durga (the Invincible)...different aspects of the same omnipresent and omnipotent lord.
Doesn't it make us, women, a responsible soul in every sense to mould, nuture and enrich the family she lives in?

Hi Deepa. Good to see you. Been a while, but it's actually like it was yesterday. She is beautiful and I know what you mean about how they portray women in soaps, etc. Nice to see you and your work is awesome as always. Happy PPF!

Very pretty Deepa, so very true there are so many different facets to a woman and nature(GOD) has made woman in a way that she can beautifully play all the roles so well, discovering her own strengths.

What a beautiful woman. Yes, I agree that being responsible for her family brings out strengths and traits women never knew they possessed.

She holds in herself a myriad of emotions and beliefs - all that defines Parineeta. Really, this painting depicts everything you have said, so beautifully. Super work, Deepa :)
