“A human being is a part of the whole called by us as universe, a part
limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and
feeling as something separated from the rest, a kind of optical delusion
of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us,
restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few
persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this
prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living
creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty.” - Albert Einstein
Recently I saw an interview in one of our regional news channel about Rita Panicker, a lady who overwhelmed me with her tales of street children. She is the Director of an organization called Butterflies - a programme for street and working children. It's a voluntary organization that runs in Delhi since 1989 and focuses on safeguarding and protecting the rights of street and working children. They include children even in their decision making. They even have a bank called Khazana run by children and is not restricted to India alone. Bal sabha's are engaged monthly to discuss the childrens' issues. The most stricking part in her talk was the couple decided not to have children so that they can serve the children of the world. Rita says that's following the religion, that's serving God! Isn't that True and so Noble? Visit Butterflies :)
This week my pictures are from nature, again, and I am embracing nature and all the living creatures :)

My SOC submission is a digi art as mentioned in my previous post. This week's colour combo was Lime Green and Purple. I have used various effects on my Perching bird image...Tell me which one looks good...or is everything unpalatable???

Wonderful!
The chameleon painting is fantastic. And I really love the painting that got all the different backgrounds and accompanying art treatment. To tell the truth, I really like the original better than the enhanced ones. I especially like the effect of the green on the edges of the leaves. Beautiful. One of the advantages of blogs is that we learn of customs in other countries. I guess I am naive. I didn't realize that there were "working children" . We have laws against child labor so the idea that there are little ones working instead of going to school is shocking to me. Thank you for Rita's link.
Hi Deepa, just stopping by from SOC and PPF. What a great job you did with the colors. I love how you paint. Thumbs up to you!!:)
Wow, you created so much! My favorite it the first one, the chameleon.

Your chameleon is gorgeous!!! Love to hear about that organization!!! Amazing work they do!!! As for your perching birdie, I like top one (plain, simple and sweet), and 3rd one too. But I like the first one best. I guess I am just a purist!!! :)

Really interesting projects, love the chameleon...Happy PPF xox
What a sweet chameleon!. As a child, I loved to sing along that song by Boy George, Karma Chameleon so much :). My favorite version is the very last one, looking oriental and all. Sweet bird too!
fantastic projects!! I just love your chameleon and your digital art is so fun with all the different patterns!
This is so nice, I love your little bird, you must be having fun playing with your computer :-)
Love the chameleon -- I think we all envy that animal's abilities on some level even though we like to stand apart from our environment. I like the original bird in purple and lime best, but all of them have visual impact. Thanks for the Einstein quote -- very wise and thoughtful.
Lovely work. Great chameleon painting and take on this weeks SoC colour combination, I love all the different variations:)
Wonderful quote! And thank you for sharing the information about the butterflies organization. Yes they are indeed amazing people with a beautiful mission!
Your chameleon looks wonderful!
Happy PPF
